Hidden ball trick

The hidden ball trick is where a group of players huddles and gives someone else the ball so the other team doesnt know who has the ball. When the goalie is least expecting it the player that has the ball shoots. This trick rarely works but when it does it amazes everyone. The only problem is that it causes a lot of controversy.
There are many arguments arguing if the Hidden Ball trick should be legal in Lacrosse. There have been certain rules to this trick. You are not allowed to huddle around the ball when transferring it. this used to be the most common way. Although, this trick is still dangerous to be used in this sport. If the defensemen thinks one guy has the ball he might play defense on him and injure him when really a different guy has the ball. There are certain circumstances where a flag will still be called for this. When a defender does an illegal body check on a player that does or doesnt have the ball a flag will still be thrown. The big question is what will happen when he does legal checks on someone that doesnt have the ball? And what should the Officials ruling be? This is why there is a big debate on this topic. As a player i believe it should be legal in the sport of lacrosse

A couple years ago, there was an attackman with a really, really good fake pass. He would throw it once per game and then score nearly every time. If he faked out an official, shame on the official.

As far as penalizing a hit on the guy faking possession, note that I stated "big hit". I'm not throwing a flag for a defender posting him up. But you can't let "I thought he had the ball!" be an accepted excuse for leveling opponents. That is asking for trouble.

Maryland recently pulled off this trick in their game against UNC on saturday.
